Watercolor: Landscapes

Service Description

Join us for this 2 session watercolor workshop where we explore building a watercolor landscape. From simple drawings, you will develop, layer on layer, a painterly vista. Learn techniques using dramatic washes and delicate details. Explore the subtle shifts in light and shadow. You will also examine color saturation in nature, and creating space and scale when painting the grand outdoors. This class is inspired by three masters, J.M.W. Turner, Winslow Homer, and Andrew Wythe. Check out their work, but don't let that intimidate you- just get inspired! Each student will work on two watercolor sheets. One will be the painting. The other will be technique practice sheets, whose lessons can be applied to all your future paintings. All supplies will be provided, however, feel free to bring your personal favorites should you prefer. Suitable for all levels- even beginners (yes, even if you’ve never picked up a brush!)
